A digital collaboration between Paragon Music (Scotland) and Armonia E Inclusión (Mexico).

Stride is a band that emerged out of Paragon’s inclusive youth music programmes. The musicians meet regularly for Sunday evening rehearsals at Berkeley 2 Studios in Glasgow. They create their own music in different styles, incorporating the skills of individual group members, with a focus on live performance.

Stride have been performing since 2017 at venues and festivals in Glasgow. During the pandemic they met up online and continued to create new songs. In September 2020 they discovered Rock DI, from San Juan del Río in Mexico and began making music together over the internet. In 2021 the British Council supported the two bands through its Digital Collaboration Fund and the musicians from both countries composed 10 original tracks together for this album. All the songs reflect their own lived experiences about disability, the pandemic and the longing to meet up even though they live five thousand miles apart. Abrazos means “Hugs” in Spanish and one day they hope that they will be able to hug one another in person!

Rock DI is a rock band that emerged from the inclusive music workshops of Armonía E Institución AC, it is a group of young people that have been meeting and rehearsing for the last for 6 years in San Juan del Río, Queretaro creating their own artistic history.

We infinitely appreciate the support of all the people who made this possible. Thank you for trusting and believing in Rock DI, to our families for always supporting us. Thank you Paragon, for your time, love and teaching.
